Some retreats let you reserve instantly. Others require the host's approval. The distinction matters for timing.
Instant Book
Hit Reserve and the booking confirms immediately. Your card is charged, the host gets notified, you're in. Look for the lightning-bolt icon on a listing.
Request to book
You submit a request and the host has 24 hours to accept or decline. Your card is authorised but not charged until they accept. If they decline or don't respond, nothing is charged.
Why the difference
Some retreats need to vet guests (e.g. specialist programs, small group dynamics) — they use Request to book. Others are open to anyone who matches the basics — they use Instant Book.
Tips
For Request to book listings, message the host first if you have questions. A pre-booking conversation often speeds up the response.
