Finding Retreats supports three kinds of listings, and they're built differently under the hood because they serve different kinds of hosting. Picking the right one up front saves you from rebuilding a listing under the wrong type later.
A retreat listing is a multi-day stay: it bundles accommodation, a program, dates, and pricing into one bookable package. Setting one up is the most involved of the three, because there's the most to describe — the wizard walks through accommodation and rooms, occupancy, an itinerary, and pricing packages that combine a bed with a program of activities across more than a dozen sections in total. If your business is built around guests staying with you for several days, this is the type for you, and it's the only one currently offered up front when you sign up as a new host — you can add the others afterwards from your dashboard.
A wellness service is built for an ongoing, appointment-based offering rather than an overnight stay — think a single practitioner running a recurring practice: massage, a yoga class, a treatment. Setting one up asks for your category and subcategory, any qualifications or practitioner profile you want to show, then your business hours and availability, and finally your pricing, discounts, and the specific offerings you provide. There's no accommodation or itinerary involved — guests book a slot with you, not a bed, and the whole flow is noticeably shorter than a retreat's.
An experience is a single bookable activity for a group — a workshop, a class, a one-off session someone can drop into without staying overnight. Like wellness services it asks about your category and any relevant qualifications, but the rest of the flow is built around running a bookable session: how many guests you can take, whether you offer a private booking option, what's provided, and your pricing. Starting one also shows you any drafts you already have and lets you copy the setup from an existing listing, which is useful if you're adding a second, similar experience. It's the right choice for something a guest books and shows up to once, rather than a service they return to repeatedly or a stay they book for several nights.
A rough way to decide:
You're not locked into one type. Hosts commonly run a retreat alongside a wellness service or an experience listing, and each is set up, edited, and managed separately in your dashboard — nothing about choosing one now prevents you from adding another later.
If you're still deciding, it's worth looking at the setup flow for the type you're leaning toward before committing. From your dashboard, choose to add a new retreat, wellness service, or experience, and the first few screens will make clear whether the questions being asked match what you're actually trying to list.
