Check-in process at a retreat

What happens on day one — typical arrival flow, room assignment and orientation.

Most retreats follow a similar day-one rhythm. Here's what to expect.

Arrival

You'll usually arrive between 2 PM and 6 PM. Check-in window is shown on your confirmation. If you're early, most retreats can hold your bag; you may not be able to access your room until check-in opens.

Welcome

Expect a tour of the property, an introduction to the team, room assignment, and an orientation session. Dinner is often the first group activity — a chance to meet the other guests.

First evening

Most retreats keep day-one light: introductions, ground rules, an opening circle or session. The full schedule starts the next morning.

Tips

  • If you have specific dietary needs, confirm them with the kitchen on arrival even if you noted them at booking.
