Request accommodations for accessibility

How to ask a host for specific accommodations before booking.

If a listing doesn't explicitly cover your accessibility need, message the host before booking — most accommodate where they can.

When to message

Before booking, especially for needs that affect the venue, schedule or activities.

What to ask

  • Specifics of any access barriers (stairs, narrow doorways, distance between buildings).

  • Whether sessions can be adapted for your needs.

  • Whether assistive equipment is available on-site or you need to bring your own.

  • How emergencies are handled given your accessibility profile.

Tips

  • Hosts can't legally deny a booking based on disability — but they can decline if the venue truly can't safely accommodate. A pre-booking conversation prevents surprises.
